About the Campaign
The disaster at the Kadoma gold mines in Zimbabwe occurred when unexpectedly heavy rains fell and flooded the mine shafts where informal miners were working underground. The rescue operation was mounted by fellow miners and the community and is still on-going. The final toll of the deceased and rescued has not yet been established but it has been reported that between 70 and 80 miners were involved. The families of the deceased are now without means to survive and require assistance.
