AFCON Crowdfunding Campaign

Zimbabwean sports have been known to be plagued with funding issues, very recently (May 2, 2019) the Netball Team were left stranded at Mbare due to funding constraints. The Zimbabwean Sables Rugby Team got stranded in Tunisia while attending their commitments there in 2018. The Warriors also had a torrid time in the Gabon 2017 AFCON qualifiers, needing NetOne to come in at the 11th hour to financially rescue them. The purpose of this campaign is to capitalize on the time left to start rallying support and create a motivating atmosphere for The Warriors 2019 AFCON Campaign.

About the Campaign

This private initiative entails the upcoming continental Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) football tournament that the Zimbabwe National Football Team (The Warriors) have qualified for. This is the fourth time Zimbabwe has qualified (2004, 2006, 2017; and 2019), but is still yet to win it.

We have taken pre-emptive action by developing a private crowdfunding initiative to support The Warriors using a dynamic apparel model that will create jobs; boost marketing the AFCON campaign, through the use of clothing apparel; and most importantly raise funds for the team. The two products we have started with are:


As a standard product.


To take advantage of the upcoming winter season.


We have created an opportunity for corporates to be a part of this golden initiative by purchasing a Patriotic Partner Pack (PPP) that will enable them to have their company logo branded onto the apparel they purchase.

These clothing accessories can be used by the buyer for marketing purposes, capitalizing on the hype around Zimbabwe’s electrifying qualification for ‘Egypt 2019’ as well playing the opening game against the hosts.

We have partnered with City Study Centre (71 Sam Nujoma, Harare) to handle the manufacturing of the apparel (T-Shirts and Hoodies). They have all the equipment and labour needed, through the Dress-making courses that they offer. Furthermore, they have a database of students that we are leveraging as Sales Agents to help them harness an income-earning opportunity in this environment of high unemployment.

The CSR aspect is to donate 10% of proceeds to the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) to help cater for The Warriors’ costs in Egypt and enable to soley focus on playing the beautiful game.
